After all, when a woman feels confident about herself, she’s unstoppable. She can achieve anything she puts her mind to.
So why do you feel insecure in the gym?
You are not alone. We’ve been there ourselves - from excitement at starting the new workout phase to total imposter syndrome and insecurity.
As if women didn’t contend with enough already, the constant hormones raging through our bodies - in our teens, as new mums, during menopause and even over 60’s - can really have an impact on our confidence and how we feel about our bodies.
Research by The Gym Group found over a third of women feel out of place in the gym.
What’s worse is they found over half (53%) are put off from signing up due to ‘Gymtimidation’ - the fear of encountering the ‘tight yoga pants and skimpy outfits’...
But it’s time for women to take back control. The dreams of getting fit and healthy are within reach, you just have to believe in yourself to take the first step. But that’s not to say there aren’t some tips to help you along the way…
How can you feel more confident in the gym?
1) Find workout clothes that work for you
Ever heard the saying, ‘I feel like a million dollars’? Well, we believe that the most important way to feel more confident is to feel good in your clothes. Go to the gym with a plan in hand and forget about aimlessly wandering around. With a plan, you can forget about doubting if you should even be in the gym and questioning if you are up for the challenge. Instead, you just do it.
